Yes, I did it. I stood in line yesterday for an hour or so to purchase a copy of Unknown Pleasures and to have it signed by one of my favorite bassist, Peter Hook. As one who hates waiting in lines, I was kept cool by reading from two books in hand by two poets: Slow Lightening by Eduardo C. Corral and Queen for a Day by Denise Duhamel. This, as well as some of the conversations I overheard while in line about particular relationships with the music of Joy Division and New Order, and seeing them there and seeing them here. Strangely, I was content in line.
Peter Hook was friendly and jovial as far as I could tell.
"Take it easy, mate," he said. "Arrato," I answered.
